We are actively recruiting Part II students for the 2022-23 academic year. Our projects are mostly experimental, but there are possibilities for more computationally-focussed projects as well. Working in the Burt group, you can expect to gain substantial practical experience working with modern experimental physical chemistry tools, including femtosecond laser systems, non-linear optics, ultra-high vacuum systems, charged-particle imaging spectrometers, and fast ion imaging cameras.
As we are a small group, you can expect to be involved in day-to-day running of the laboratory, and will be fully integrated into the group research environment. You can expect to undertake a scientifically meaningful project that will be directly relevant to the research we are conducting. If this appeals to you, please get in touch!
